COMPANY HISTORY
Tecelagem Lima (Lima Knitting) was born as Confecções Vitorino in 1983 in the hands of Mr. Waldir Vitorino and His wife Nelci Lima. Initially it was a micro company dedicated to the exclusive production of knitting with manual machines, a service that is almost entirely handmade. As time went by, the company also started to work with fabrics such as tricoline, silk, viscose etc..., but the focus was always on knitting.
Serving the most varied customers, we have accumulated experience in all stages of the production of men's, women's and children's clothing. Be it in the production of haute couture pieces, cheap clothes where cost-effectiveness is what matters, and uniforms for companies in general.
In 2013, the company was renamed Tecelagem Lima, managed by Carlos Lima, and after so much diversification, it focused its efforts on the knitting machines segment, leaving aside the other stages of the manufacturing process: cutting, sewing and marketing of the final product. . This choice was made following an orientation of the market itself, which is increasingly segmented, where each company complies with a stage of the process and thus reduces the costs of having an entire structure that would often wait for demand.
In terms of structure, we have everything necessary for the production of quality fabrics at the best costs today. We work with electronic machines from the Chinese company Ci-Xing ( https://en.ci-xing.com ), which offer excellent production and maintenance costs, are up-to-date in terms of technical resources and have a large stock of spare parts, which is very important not to delay customers' production. It will probably be our choice in this new international phase as well.
For other fabric finishing processes, we wash 100% of our products to avoid shrinkage, loss of color and other problems that could occur in the after-sales process. The steaming of the fabrics is done after this stage and with it we give the final finish to the fabric that will be sent to the customer for production. We no longer carry out the steps of cutting and sewing the pieces. As mentioned, the focus now is on executing a certain stage of the process to avoid costs, maintaining a very large and swollen structure with employees who would often be idle. This way we can focus on what we do best and satisfy the most demanding customers.
OUR PROJECT
For the future, Tecelagem Lima is looking for new challenges. Because? Quality of life and professional. The economic and political instability suffered in Brazil has discouraged the maintenance and creation of new enterprises. And there is the climate factor, which has been important since Brazil is a tropical country, and this does not favor knitting.
What challenges and where? We haven't defined yet. And that's why we are launching this project to verify the interest of potential clients who are interested in our work and in this way we will direct our next steps. We need you, sector entrepreneurs, to tell us what you need for your collections, what kind of raw material, cost, number of collections you make per year, etc... Anyway, we would like you to tell us what you expect from us.
Initially we are thinking about New York because it have the necessary profile for us to work on the development of a fashion venture with a volume and variety of jobs, and with the ease of setting up sustainable logistics to serve our future customers in their time.
Our expectation to start operating in North American territory is the beggin of 2025. For that, we have to define the location and file all the necessary documentation to carry out the process within the law. We also have to consider the time of year when you develop your collections, so this start date can vary by up to 6 months if the productions are similar to what we have here.
We will follow your evaluations so we can talk and define the next steps. Comment, give suggestions, indicate us to those you believe we can be useful. We will be very grateful for your help.
Note: the assembly of this site was done with the help of Google translator. Our English is still under development, so in the case of a direct contact, we ask that you understand this aspect. We will do our best to serve them.
